Counter Stools

The furniture market is awash with a huge range of bar stools of all shapes and sizes from which we can choose the perfect piece to sit in our kitchen under the breakfast bar. Its unfortunate then that so few of us put in the required time and effort to get the stool that will fulfill its potential and add true style to the room.
I think the problem is that many people get overcome with confusion when bombarded with images when searching on the Internet and in the end just opt for some generic piece that they hope will blend into the background. Those who manage to understand the importance of choosing something that fits in with the existing theme of their kitchen are rewarded with a low cost way to take their home environment to a whole new level.
If you are looking for a more expensive set of counter stools and want something in the high end market you need to be sure to improve credit, and to make sure you are budgeting to fit something that expensive into your expenses. It can be done, but just make sure you are informed so that you don't run into problems.
Bar Stool vs. Counter Stool
The two kinds of stools may seem to be indentical at first glance, however they have different purposes and functions. Counter stools are typically a bit lower than a regular bar stool, and normally will stand around 30-31 inches. This is a plus for bigger kitchens that have large counter workspaces. Counter stools allow you to sit comfortably at the counter to do work, eat, or converse whereas the traditional bar stool would probably sit a bit too high. A lot of newew, modern homes are using counter stools in open kitchens. This is usually where you entertain company and could be more comfortable that way.
Don't forget to measure the counter top where your bar stool, counter stool, dining room chair or kitchen chair will be used – and be sure to leave an adequate amount of clearance. Usually you will want to have between 9-12 inches between the top of your leg to the underside of the counter.
If you are looking for taller stools than you need to go the Bar Stool route. Think of your favorite restaurant bar area and this is the usually the height of the stool. Most rec rooms have this type of stool where kitchens will most likely call for the counter stool. Before buying be sure to remember to measure the place the stool will be used so you won't have to make unnecessary accomodations such as a pillow to sit on or sit far away from the counter because you don't fit!
